Summer so far

I've had a lot of time to draw this last week or so and I've really been enjoying myself. I've started working on watercolors and combining it with watercolor pencils. Below are some stuff I've done at home. I'm also working on a self portrait as part of the AP Art summer assignment. I think it's coming along pretty good.
I'm also rewatching the entire Avatar: The Last Airbender series! I'm making my dad watch it. So about every night at around one, Derek, my dad, and I all have a South African snack and watch two to four episodes of Avatar! It's been awesome and my good friend, Eliza has been so kind as to lend to DVDs to us!
Tomorrow, my aunt is coming for a couple of days. I miss her and can't wait to see her.

Last Day of School!

So today was the last day of Sophomore year! Finals are over and Summer is finally here! I hate the weather, but I love the whole no-school thing!
So, after school, Aley, Simar, Suman, Eliza, Laura, and I all went to Qdoba for lunch. I was really fun, especially when Al and Suman were trying to see what the other was texting to BINGO (it's a long, terribly obnoxious story, better told on other blogs, but it basically means the guy they like) and they would fight over the phones.
Derek baked a cake, and it was really good except I'm not too fond of the frosting...
I have many plans for this Summer, some of which are quite imminent. Molly's coming over tomorrow, I'm having a pool party on Saturday, and I'm going to Lariska's pool party next Saturday!
So, yeah, fun times!
Check out the painting I finished yesterday at art:

Update

So, I haven't blogged in about forever, I believe it was. Actually, it was May 7th. Anyway, I need to catch up. But the two whole habitual readers of this blog are now on tumblr, which is upsetting. Any way, I think I'll take this moment to recall everything that has happened to me since I last blogged.
So, about three weekends ago, I went to a Paramore concert with Sarah and Aley and it was AMAZING! I simply love Paramore and they were even better live than I expected them to be. Hayley Williams is a fiend! I bought a Tshirt, which actually ended up being more expensive than the concert tickets themselves. I also lost a twenty dollar bill, ten on which happened to be Aley's. So, I ended up spending $77, which was one dollar more than the Disneyland trip that I claimed I couldn't afford to go on. Oh well. But the whole experience was super fun. I lost the money in the process of waving my cellphone during "The Only Exception", which is alright with me. Sarah's mom is super awesome. She's really funny and is friends with celebrities through Twitter, which I think is hilarious. We got home that night at midnight, ate peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and watched Dr. Horrible. Then we went to bed. It was a good night.
The next Wednesday, my English group (Me, Michelle, Sarah, Brooke, Courtney, and Brandon) presented our project that we had worked really hard on and were really proud of. We even wrote and filmed a music video for a rap. The project was to present a problem in society and then propose a ridiculous solution for said problem, modeled after Jonathan Swift's "A Modest Proposal". We chose the competition among students and stress in applying to colleges. Our solution was to rename every school Harvard. I thought our presentation went rather well, but Michelle didn't. Oh, well.
The school year is now coming to a close and it is currently finals week. Two finals have gone by: Math and French and I still have three more to go, since I don't have to take the Chem final! :)
I'll be so happy when school is finally over! I'm having a party for my birthday the Saturday after we get out. I'm hoping it'll be fun and that all my friends will come.
This Summer will be really busy; I'm hoping to get a lot done. I have three Summer assignments. I wont go into detail on the AP Language Composition or the AP US History. But, I am pretty excited about the AP Studio Art assignments!
I'm tired now.
Here's the video for English:

I'm Alive.

I haven't blogged in over a month, but I have a legitimate reason. I have been preparing for my AP European history exam. Kind of. But, I'm finally done because I had my test today! It was hard, but I feel like I did alright, and I'm glad it's over. I'll just have to wait until summer to know for sure.
So here's a quick summary of what's been happening this last month.
Derek's home, so we've been hanging out and watching FMA. I have an English project that we've been working on in groups and it's been pretty fun. Derek even helped us to write and record a rap for it. Aley has a boyfriend (haha, AL, if youre reading this). Suman is awesome. And I got rubber bands for my braces. I am the new VP for the Valencia Art Honors society. And I finished this painting.

That's all I can think of for now.

DBQs wipe me out.

It's Saturday and I'm at home alone. Well, actually, I'm no longer alone, because, seriously, the second I typed "alone", the garage door opened, indicating that my parents are home. They went to Dennis's house to play poker. I stayed at home because Dennis's wife hates kids and I did my homework. I watched Shrek 2 while I ate my frozen dinner. Fun times.
Tomorrow, is Sunday and I have to finish my Chemistry review packet and go to church. In the afternoon, my parents and I are planning to go to Claremont and have dinner with Derek to discuss some important family issues.
I'm really tired right now. Writing a DBQ essay for Euro for two hours straight really took a lot out of me. I'll probably just read a bit and then go to bed soon. I'll right a better blog another day.
Bye.

Oh, by the way, I totally fixed my iTunes. About a minute after I wrote that last post, actually.

I am aggravated.

So, yeah, yeah, today was nice and all. I mean, I had a blast in English and I went over to my best friend's house and I got invited to go to a movie night tomorrow, but what is happening right now negates everything fun or good today. That's right: it ruined my day. Here's what happened.
I logged on to my computer and proceeded to check all of the normal websites: DeviantArt, Facebook, YouTube, Blogger, Formspring. You know, all the usual suspects. Then I decided to download some new music that I had heard about from a vlog I watch. So, after the torrent had completed downloading, I attempted to open iTunes. Nothing. And I mean nothing. No music, no videos, no pictures, nothing. This is about the time when I started freaking out. I yelled to my mom and explained to her about my situation. At this point, she got all offended because she was under the impression that I was somehow blaming her (since she had done some things on my laptop last weekend), when, really, I was just prepared to yell at anyone in my vicinity. This was when my dad came home from work, naturally. So, of course, I had to explain everything to him, while in a bad mood and upset at the prospect of never being able to access my music again.
So, now is the part in the story, where I relate my trials and tribulations of how I attempted to restore my library. First, I did the logical thing and looked for it in the Recycle Bin. Nope. So, I Googled how to copy music from an iPod to iTunes. This is impossible to do while iTunes is still open, because, all it does is offer to sync the iPod, which would merely wipe it clean. So, what I had to do was quickly say no when the sync option popped up and immediately close iTunes. My iPod would then become and "external drive". Then, I had to copy all my files from the iPod onto the computer which, seeing as I had a fair amount of files on my iPod, took a reasonable amount of time. Then, I had to open iTunes and attempt to put those files into the library. Here's the problem, though. ITunes wouldn't open. Here's when I started to get really mad. I ended up having to reinstall iTunes, causing the computer to restart, further wasting my time. After the computer finally finished doing whatever the hell it was doing, I opened iTunes. Then, I tried to open the folder again. Nothing. I checked other suggestions online and tried them all. Nothing worked.
All that happened is that I now have excessive amounts of copies of folders with nonsensical names from my iPod and a headache. I still haven't fixed the problem and have basically given up. I guess I'll just have to never ever update my iPod ever again. Or I'll have to re-download and re-uploaod every music I'd ever had. And, trust me, that would take a long time and a lot of effort. And, frankly, I probably will just end up doing just that one day, since I have no life and I already spend exorbitant amounts of time on my computer, usually online or organizing my iTunes. Sometimes, I really hate technology.
No picture today. Deal with it.

Spring Break and new Nerdfighters.

I haven't blogged in exactly a week, so, here it goes. Last week was spring break and my parents and I went to Las Vegas for four days. We stayed at the Mirage, which was a really nice hotel. The windows were plated with real gold and actually opened, an anomaly for most hotel windows. We spent most of the week eating, like the true fatties we are. But, surprisingly, my parents are actually much more fat than I am. Not literally of course, but I mean that they were constantly eating. Seriously, we'd go to a huge buffet and totally pig out and then the next morning they wanted to eat. Again. So that was aggravating. Mostly I just watched them eat. It was a bit annoying, really. We also went to see a variety show called V, which was cheesy to the max. I mean, the announcer guy kept making jokes about how much he hates his job and how little money he makes. It was cheesy, but I enjoyed it non the less. I liked the acrobats. On Wednesday, my mom and I went shopping and I bought a dress, a shirt, and purple flats from Forever 21. Then my mom and I passed a Claire's and I begged her to let me get my ears pierced, as I've been trying to convince her to let me do since I was at least seven years old. I bought the earrings which I have to keep in for six weeks and clean twice a day. So that was satisfying; I won a years long battle with my mother. But, to be honest, my favorite part of the trip was the drives to and from Vegas. Even though it's four hours each way on the desert highway, I get to control all the music and I love the scenery.
So, today, was the first day back to school and I had a pretty good day. I got to see all my friends again that I'd missed. I missed Michelle and Eliza and Suman and Nicole. And school was no big deal today because the teachers are going easy on us on the first day back and we are only really doing review this week. And my English teacher talked to us the entire period and we didn't do any work. And in Euro, it turned out that the entire spring break project that I busted my butt on during the last weekend of break. So, that kind of pissed me off. But, we are gonna be in groups for the rest of the year, and I'm pretty content with my group.
Also, I met a new Nerdfighter today in real life. I was sitting by the library reading Will Grayson Will Grayson, John Green's new book with David Levithan, and this girl walks out of the library and says to me, "Is that Gill Grayson Will Grayson?" and I said, "Yes! Are you a Nerdfighter?" and it turned out she totally was. So Aley and I talked to her all of brunch and it was awesome. Especially since Aley and I both knew that there had to be another Nerdfighter. We knew it. And we were right. And Alex is awesome. It was a great day.
Other things I did over the break was start this awesome book series, The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare. And it's amazing. I can't wait to finish it. And I also drew this portrait of The Hush Sound, which brings me to the end of this blog post.

My day and a drawing.

So, it's the Monday after Easter Sunday and I'm going to Los Vegas tomorrow. Today has been kind of a boring day so far. I woke up around ten and read City of Bones for about two hours. Then, I made my mom and myself omelets because I'm really good at making omelets. They're about the only thing I can make. After that, I listened to my newly downloaded Regina Spektor albums. She's really good and I'm glad Derek told be about her. After a snack of strawberries and milk and talking on the phone to Aley for sometime, I got bored, so now, I'm watching Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, which is the second anime series of Fullmetal Alchemist and sticks more closely to the manga, I believe. But, right now, it's being slow and so I'm waiting for it to load.
So, here's the picture for today. Aley, I promised you something you've never seen before, so here you go: straight out of my sketchbook, drawn yesterday and with no references.

Easter and Toby Mguire goes crazy.

I'm going to try to blog more frequently in April. So here goes.
Today is Easter and I went to church this morning and saw my good friend Emily. It was the same old thing as every year, with the puppets and that one video. I like that. It's comforting. I'll eat lunch soon and then my mom and I are going to see The Last Song.
Yesterday I saw this really good movie called Brothers starring Toby Mguire, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Natalie Portman. It was really well done; the acting was phenomenal and the drama was intense. It was about a soldier, Sam (Toby Mguire), who went to fight in Afghanistan, leaving his wife (Natalie Portman) at home. His brother, Tommy (Jake Gyllenhaal), just got out of jail and his father never approved of him. Then Sam's helicopter crashes and he is presumed dead. And his whole family is kind of messed up and his wife is depressed and his wife and his brother kind of have a thing and his daughters start to like his brother more than him and think of him as a father figure. Meanwhile, he's been captured by terrorists and is forced to bludgeon his friend to death. Finally, he is rescued and comes back home, but he's not the same and he's convince that his wife and his brother have a thing, when really they just kissed once. And there's a really awkward, tense scene with the oldest daughter, who happens to be the same girl in Bridge to Teribithia who Derek and I actually saw in Burbank. And he's paranoid and distant and depressed and kind of goes insane and there's a really intense scene at the end with all three of them and he's just going crazy. But, in the end, you get the impression that everything's going to be okay. So, yeah..
Happy Easter
!

Titles are smelly.

Yeah, so I saw in the drop down box when I was writing the title my old title, "Tiles are smelly", and I was going to write, "Titles are stupid" because I can never think of what to write in them because I never know what my blog is going to be about until I actually write it, but "Titles are smelly" is an infinitely better title.
So, today, someone whom formerly, regrettably, I wasn't on speaking terms with, talked to me! I was really glad that she did because, despite what certain other individuals might say about her and that day, I really missed her and her company and her awesome genius-ness. So that was good.
Also, today marks the first day of Spring Break! This week seemed to drag on and on, but finally, it ended and we're free! Well, expect for Spring Break projects and reading assignments. I'm going to Las Vegas and chilling by the pool. Also, Derek is home this weekend!
So, I'm writing this blog while I'm waiting for MegaVideo to allow me to watch another 72 minutes of video. But it was really annoying because I was watching the Fullmetal Alchemist movie: The Conquerer on Shambala (not kidding, that's the name) and I was almost done and it was getting really exciting! But, I can't say I didn't see it coming.
Anyway, here's my picture today. It's the card I made for my dad's birthday. He wanted a drawing of Hermione and a Butterbeer, so that's what he got. Can't decide whether to upload it to DA or not.

BYE!

Must. Blog. Twitch. Twitch.

So, I hardly got a chance to go on the computer at all this week, much less blog, due to homework and studying and general busy-ness. But, today I didn't really have any homework , except for long-turn things like "study for my AP test" or "Spring Break projects", but.... I got distracted. So, since it's April Fool's day, Deviantart changed everyone's icons and signatures to those that are Twilight, Lady Gaga, or Team Seeker (whatever that is...) related things. And it's hysterical. At first, when I saw only my icon (which was changed to a picture of Edward Cullen) I thought I had been hacked, so, naturally, I immediately called Aley to yell at her for changing my account. But, don't worry, she straightened things out for me and informed me that it was all one massive April Fools joke. It's brilliant. A lot of people were complaining about their icons, either because of their hatred of the subject (ie Twilight or Lady Gaga) or their general annoyance. Also, in addition to the mass icon changes, they instigated and new gift to give to friends. Guess what it is. I'll tell you what it is. Llamas. It's amazing. I already have four. I know, so special, right. Oh, I love Deviantart..
.
So, here's my picture of the day!
ByeBye!

This weekend has been pretty good so far. Yesterday was my dad's birthday, so we're going to go to his favorite restaurant, The Tandoori Grill, which is, incidentally, my favorite restaurant too! So, that's exciting. Also, Derek is home for this weekend and I've missed him. Last night we watched the second live-action Death Note movie together, which was pretty ridiculous.
So this is why my family is awesome: my dad, my brother, and I were talking about Nicholas Sparks and all of his sad, girly, romantic novels and I said, for some reason, "I bet you he can't perform alchemy with out a transmutation circle." And my dad, preemptively says, "I bet you he's can't produce a corporeal patronus, either." And that is why my dad is awesome.
Speaking of performing alchemy with out a transmutation circle, I finished the first anime series on Fullmetal Alchemist today and let me just say that it was AMAZING! Honestly, I was literally screaming and laughing and yelling and shaking. It's just so intense. I'm going to watch the follow-up movie and maybe the second series. Man, it's a good show.
Well, here's my promised drawing of the day.

Because I can.
Oh, and Derek and I just had a quarrel over the lyrics of Pretty Woman in Sweeney Todd. I said that it was "Tis true that love can still inspire the blood to pound a heartly pyre...", but he insisted that that wasn't it, so I just looked it up and it turns out it's actually "Tis true that love can still inspire the blood to pound, the heart leap higher..." So, there you have it and now we know and such and what not.
Also, Suman, if you're reading this, know that I love you and don't you ever let anything he says or does to you bring you down because you're special and amazing and he's not worth it.
Ta ta for now.

Yup, This Is Another Blog Entry...

So, today was pretty good! I wore my brother's ugly sweater to school and I got mixed reactions. Eliza, Hannah Looney, Kelsey, Lauren, and Sarah said they liked it, but Michelle literally looked like it made her want to throw up and the first thing Aley said to me this morning was, "What's with the ugly sweater?". So, that was fun, but it was comfortable.
We did more fitness testing again in P.E. We did the trunk lift and push-ups, both of which I passed. I just need to pass the sit-ups (which won't be a problem) and the mile (which will be a problem). So, we'll see how that goes.
We're doing a project in French and we have to do a skit where we are sick and have to go to the doctor and Michelle, Aley and I are working together. Our plan is to have Aley get Spattergroit and I have to take her to St. Mungo's where she sees the Healer, Michelle. And the best part about all that, is that it was all Michelle's idea! Man, I love that girl!
I have a huge quiz tomorrow in A.P. Euro on dates. Alot of dates...
So, in order to give myself an incentive to blog and to make it more interesting, I decided that I'm going to post more drawings. Either old drawings, doodles I did in class, or full complete portraits. So don't judge me if they're bad!
Today's picture is a drawing on the Golden Trio that I did a while ago, last semester I think, for my friend Maddie that I never put online! I just didn't want to scan something new.

A Recap.

Okay, I really have to blog because I haven't done it in over a week and Suman is making me. And I really don't want to fall out of rhythm because I like to blog and I like to write.
So, today, in the morning right before PE, I suddenly started to get a huge headache in my right temple. I mean, Voldemort must have been seriously pissed! (I need to start making more Harry Potter references to make up for my name.) Anyway, after taking an Advil and and Excedrin, it finally got better, but not until about one. In the meanwhile, I had to hold my head together; it sucked!
So, yesterday, I got to talk on Skype with my good friend, Ingvild, from Norway. For more that two hours. It was really interesting and I loved to talk to her for real. It was like really meeting her in real life. She's so sweet and admirable. She is one of the most real people I know. And she has an adorable accent. And, Ingvild, if you're reading this: Hi!
This weekend was my best friend, Aley's, birthday! She had a "party" at her house that consisted of six of us sitting around in her garage watching Star Wars and eating junk food. It was really fun. Surprisingly, it was the first time I'd seen the movies and I really enjoyed them. Especially when Kayla would misconstrue anything anyone said. We watched the original three and now I really want to see the new ones. It was a great night! I only wish more of our friends could have made it to share the experience with us.
So, speaking of Aley's birthday, she got a VidCon ticket, that I had actually known about before-hand. Anyway, now I'm really excited because that means I get to go too! So, yesterday, I registered for the conference! It's going to be the day before my brithday and we get to see some of my favorite people in the world, including John Green, Hank Green (whom we've actually met before), Kristina Horner, Charlie McDonnell, Luke Conard, Alex Day, Tom Milson, and maybe others. Not to mention I get to share the experience with Aley! We are so fortunate that it's taking place in L.A. and not New York or someplace.
So, this week should be fun. I get to retake the California Fitness Exam. Oh goody. But tomorrow, Aley and I are to watch the second live-action Death Note movie! And we're watching Pride and Prejudice in English, and Derek is coming home this weekend!
So, that's it for now!

There should be more weekends.

Yesterday was pretty good. It was a Friday, which automatically makes it awesome. I finished reading Pride and Prejudice and I loved it. I started watching the five hour long movie starring Colin Firth, courtesy of my awesome friend Molly. It's really accurate and true to the book. the actor who plays Mr. Bennett is really funny! Mrs. Itaya postponed the test to Thursday, so I have more time to study and watch the movie, although I wish she had kept the due date as Monday so that the slackers only on page twenty don't get rewarded. Oh well, that's high school for you.
So, today I worked for my dad as a "research assistant" helping him proof-read his paper for a journal. I worked for three hours and can now afford to go to VidCon! It's been pretty laid-back; just watching Fullmetal and hoping I can see Alice in Wonderland tomorrow with Aley.
So, since Derek's Spring Break is next week, we all assumed that he would come home this weekend. However, he never answered any of my parents e-mails. So, my mom had to call the college and they sent a person to his dorm to tell him to e-mail his parents. And after all that, he only sent a really terse message saying that he's going to stay at school. But, the dining halls aren't even going to be open during the break! So, how is he going to eat for the whole week of break that the dining halls aren't open? He doesn't have any money. And why doesn't he ever answer our messages? It's not that difficult! It's just rude and lazy and inconsiderate! I mean, my parents are really worried about him! Doesn't he care about us at all? It's not just that he's not coming home for the weekend; that's irrelevant. It's the way he treats us. It makes me wonder if I even really understand him.

Mustaches are cool.

The reason this blog is titled as such is because today, I had a sub in Chem and that sub was Mr. Crissman, my former Bio teacher whom I loved! And he has a mustache. School today was pretty good. I had a test on Macbeth that hopefully I did well on. I have to finish Pride and Prejudice by Monday, which will not be a problem because I have only twenty pages left. We started our last chapter in Euro today. I had a French quiz on conditionnel clauses. I "played" flag football. I'm looking forward to tomorrow, except for the mile in the morning. This week has been great.
Tonight my family and I are going to Buca di Beppo on Universal City walk with our friends from out of town. It should be fun. I'm avoiding food until then to save room for the large and delicious portions. No doubt we'll get crepes for desert!
Yesterday, I finished a drawing in my art class:

It was really fun and easy because I'm used to graphite! I love graphite; it's my thing! :D
Ta, ta for now!

Tiles are smelly.

So, as mentioned before, our kitchen is getting tiled. And it smells bad. And we can't use our kitchen. At all. So, today for dinner, we went to La Cocina, which I've been wanting to try. It was really good, just as all my friends said it was. It was weird though, I saw at least four really hot guys. I can't help but think that that's the reason all my friends like it so much. Of course I'm kidding.
You know, having a blog really makes me think sometimes that you never know when some random person is writing about you on the internet. I mean, what if someone you knew at school had a blog and habitually wrote about people you knew at school, or maybe even you? What if this fictional person's blog is actually pretty popular? I don't know, it's just weird. Like, I never knew that Suman has a blog until about a month ago. And most people probably don't know that I have a blog. Sorry, rant over.
So, am I the only one who thinks this picture is the funniest thing I've seen all day?
Gotta love John and Hank.
Oh, and this picture I forgot to show yesterday.

A Marvelous Monday.

So, today was pretty good, other than the fact that it was a Monday. I got a B on my Euro test. Aley came over and her, Sofi, and I all went to Qdoba and my dad paid and that was awesome. And then Aley and I watched Neon Genesis Evangelion because we're cool like that. Then she ate Samoas, and left. She's a worthless user. I hope you can recognize the sarcasm because I love her and I wouldn't be a person if it wasn't for Aley. I'm just sayin'.
Yeah, so tomorrow we're getting tile installed in the kitchen. Honestly, I'm going to miss the hard wood; I don't really think that there's anything wrong with it. Our kitchen is going to be a mess for days. But, my parents have been going on and on about this stupid floor for months now and I'll be glad that they won't drag me to anymore tile stores anymore.
Also, yesterday, I was going through my mom's iTouch and I found a bunch of adorable old pictures. I e-mailed a few of them to myself, so I'll show them
here.

I'm miserably uncreative

I felt obligated to do another post, but I can't think of what to write, so I'm going to do this survey instead. Deal with it.

1. Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 18, and find line 4. “tricked his son, killing him by a strategem beneath the dig-”

2. Stretch your left arm out as far as you can. Okay.

3. What is the last thing you watched on TV? Family Guy

4. Without looking, guess what time it is. 4:30

5. Now look at the clock. What is the actual time? 5:04 wow, fail.

7. When did you last step outside? What were you doing? Two hours ago, I went to the grocery store with my dad.

8. Before you started this survey, what did you look at? Err... I watched two episodes of Fullmetal Alchemist and checked my Deviantart

9. What are you wearing? white undershirt, purple sweatery-ish shirt, dark blue skinny jeans, sparkley purple bangles.

12. What is on the walls of the room you are in? White paint.

16. If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy? A car and a ticket to VidCon for me and Aley. And the closest branch of Qdoba.

17. Tell me something about you that I dont know. Well, considering you're a random internet quiz, I think it's pretty safe to say that you know nothing at all about me, so, Hi! My Name's Marissa! :D

18. If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be? No Comment.

19. Do you like to dance? No.

20. George Bush? George Seinfeld

25. 4 people you would like to see do this meme in their blog: Aley, Melody, Suman, Seiji Amasawa.

Yup.

That's all.

My epic debacle.

First of all, Mrs. Itaya would be very proud that I used a vocabulary word in my blog title! Second of all, I'm apparently incapable of eating soup. That's right, soup. So tonight for dinner, my mom made tortilla soup, which was actually pretty good, despite the fact that my mom's soups are usually inedible and this one of course had the dreaded spinach. I think it was good because of the special peppers she put in. And my addition of the cheese. Any way, so after I put in all the toppings, including the tortilla strips, I endeavored to squeeze some lime juice into my soup. Here is where I made my fatal mistake. I stupidly tried to squeeze the lime against the side of the bowl in an attempt to get more juice out of the tiny slice, but I lost my grip on the lime, and my bowl went flying. My uber-hot soup and all the yummy toppings landed in my lap. Fail. I had to change my clothes and was my pants. It burned my skin and I feel like an idiot. Great. Oh, well, I felt significantly better after I ate a few samoas and drank a glass of milk.

I feel really guilty.

So, I made a rash decision and hurt a close friend of mine. I feel really bad about this and I don't know how to reconcile it with out sounding insincere. The truth is, I was just being stupid, as usual. I wish I could have a do-over. I'm sorry, Ingvild.
In other news, when did Tom Felton get so hot?

That is all.

I didn't blog at all yesterday, but I have a legitimate excuse: I was watching a stupid amount of anime. Yeah, I'm cool like that. So, I finished watching Cowboy Bebop, which was amazing! Then I watched eight episodes of Durarara and I can't wait for the next episode! It's really interesting and intriguing. Then, today (Aley, you should be proud) I started watching Bleach. Sigh. What have I gotten myself into? Aley's probably laughing maniacally as she reads this. Oh, well; what else and I to do with the obscene amount of extra time on my hands? Might as well watch hundreds of hours of anime on the internet. What has become of me?!?
In other news, my contest on Deviantart recently came to a close and I posted the winners. It was legitimately hard to chose, but I eventually had to just pick one!
Here's the winner:

I love Lariska!

It's Saturday and I'm at my friend, Lariska's house. I'm going to sleep over, so I need to write my blog here, because if I don't do it just once a day (at least for the first month or so), I know I'll be tempted to give it up. So, this morning, woke up (incidentally in a much better mood than yesterday) and read The Last Song (don' judge!) for about two hours before Lariska came and picked me up. It turns out that she has millions of art supplies she never uses, so we played around with them for a bit. It was funny, I taught her how to use soft pastels and I drew this.

Not in an amiable mood.

Today didn't go very well for me. I woke up feeling hopeful, you know, because it's Friday and I thought Derek was coming home and all that. But when I walked downstairs for breakfast, I saw a note informing my dad that my brother, Derek, will not be returning from school this weekend. Bummer.
Then, second period, we had to run the mile. Ugh. To make matters worse, in my next class, I found out that I had essentially failed my math test, not something I feel entirely comfortable admitting to the internet. Usually I'm a straight-A student! You know, the one with 110% in math! Sigh. So, that put me in a stupor for the rest of the school day. English was fine because I love Mrs. Itaya. But then in French, I basically failed a quiz that none of us were prepared for, including Simar! Ugh, I just don't want to dwell on my pitiful debacles any longer, so lets move on and I'll try to forget about it.
The highlight of my day, is that I went to Aley's house, surprise, surprise. We nommed and watched anime, as usual. And now I'm home, wondering what to do with myself on the first day of the weekend.

Another Blog Post.

Today passed as Thursdays at VHS typically pass for me. A couple things stand out in my memory. Firstly, we played football in PE, which is not a novelty for me, but the fact that I actually played was. Normally, I would never be willing participate in football, especially if the guys in the class are integrated with us girls, but today I had no choice since Ms. Kellogg proclaimed to be watching us, making sure that the girls were involved. This lead to the inevitably embarrassing prospect of my being the center. Those of you familiar with the logistics of American football, can most likely conceive of why my being center could possibly be at all embarrassing for me, particularly if the quarterback happened to be male. I'll leave the rest to your inference. However, in this case, the situation was further exacerbated by the QB's incessant proclivity to calling me "sweetie". It was just weird. It didn't necessarily upset me, but I just felt that this was something that I could easily and elatedly blog about.
After school, I went to the orthodontist, I as have been doing every five or so weeks for the past year and a half. There, I related to my orthodontist the pain in which I have been experiencing in jaw for the past six months or so due, I'm sure, to the relentless pressure of the braces. She advised me to apply moist heat to the inflamed area and to chew on the other side. I also got two full power chains on both rows of teeth in my preferred purple. Other than this, my day has been quite uneventful.
I have been thoroughly enjoying Pride and Prejudice and have progressed farther in the novel than I believe anyone in my class to have read. This discovery, of course, will explain my excessive formality in this blog post. For this, I apologize, and I assure you, my next blog postings will henceforth have a more casual and liberating tone.
With love and my highest regard,

Oil Pastels.

I don't have much time tonight because I went to art class and it's already 9:54, but I really wanted to share this. I finished my second portrait with oil pastels. Check it out.

I'm Aggravated.

So, today we all had to go the counselors in order to register for the class we plan on taking next semester, junior year. I had originally planned on signing up for AP Language Composition, AP U.S. History, Algebra 2/Trig, Physics, French 3, and AP Studio Art. However, when I presented these choices to my counselor, she said that I was not qualified to take Algebra 2/Trig or Physics, that I must take Algebra 2 and a different science class. I reluctantly agreed and trudged back to math. Slowly, however, it dawned on me that A. this was was the same exact thing that happened last year and that B. it's a vicious cycle when it comes to the math! First of all, in freshman year, they wouldn't allow me to take Honors Biology due to my math, but Aley had the same exact math as me, but still was permitted to take Honors Bio. Now, the same situation is repeating itself! Aley is again allowed to take the more advance science class as well as the faster-pace math! Secondly, I'm only doing poorly in math because I have a terrible teacher! He hasn't taught us a thing! But, in reality, I'm a great student who is willing to learn and rise to a challenge. In the evil world of high school, they assign you to a less than satisfactory teacher if they think you suck at math, but then you never learn! It's exceedingly unfair! All I want to do is do my best in high school in the most challenging classes I can handle in order to be accepted into a four-year university. And I don't see why the counselors and teachers are attempting to prevent that from happening. The whole tiring situation just makes me terribly aggravated. Oh, well, I'll have my father complain to the counselor, and, in the meantime, I'll vent on my blog and eat some Somoas (undoubtedly the best kind of Girl Scout Cookies and arguably the best cookies of all time).
Btw, A HP Fanart totally received a DD today!!!!

Anxiety Issues.

So, today was the big French project that we've been preparing for for weeks, and since I'm evidently a lame-wad, I was utterly freaking out! The night before I talked to Aley about it and she chastised me for not making three cakes and I think as a result, I had terrible night-meres about all that could go wrong the next day. They included ridiculous things like Madame Langdon having transformed the entirety of the nine-hundreds into a giant carnival, her refusing to accept my cheesecake because it wasn't enough for everyone, or me having to wrestle a large Mexican guy who had pilfered a third of my precious cake. I was up half the night, so I'm really tired now. Anyway, so today I convinced my mom to drop me off near Madame Langdon's classroom, but, surprise, surprise, she wasn't there. I was then left to stash my food in the fridge in the P.E. office, and then carry it to her class at Brunch, when she had finally arrived. However, she didn't have any room in her tiny mini-fridge for the cheesecake, so we had to put it in the fridge of the teacher next door who, by the way, had cool Lord of the Rings (the same as my brother's) and Salvador Dali (which I immediately recognized) posters on the wall. So, of course, everything was fine and worked out perfectly. The cake was delicious, everyone else had great food, and our presentation totally pwnd! So I guess all I've really learned (besides the importance of fibers) is that I have anxiety issues. I get stressed too easily and am therefore more likely to lash out at others, as I did today. I should work on that.
In other news, I got 100% on my Euro quiz today! Mr. McKee congratulated my at the end of class. :)

Oh, and btw, Aley, I believe that it's perfectly acceptable to rant about one's day on a blog. What makes it good is to make boring things interesting by either wording it creatively or having an interesting perspective. I hope I'm doing that adequately.

Baking.

I can already feel myself slipping. It's hard for me to keep up writing as a habit daily; I was never able to keep a diary, but I'm determined to do this.
Today I woke up around noon because my mom was not feeling well enough to go to church. I hope she feels better; she's often not well enough to go to church or work.
Anyway, Michelle came over at one to bake a lemon cheesecake for an extra credit assignment for French. We had to translate the recipe from French to English and then bake it to get extra credit. It was a lot of fun! I love to bake, but I don't really get to do it as often as I would like, owing to the fact that we hardly ever have sugar in the house. (My parents are huge health freaks). Anyway, Michelle had never really baked before and was repeatedly amazed with the appliances, like the food processor or the electric food mixer. Then, while we were waiting for the cheesecake to bake, we watched more of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix because, since Michelle lives under a rock, she hasn't seen the last three HP movies, even though she's read and loves all the books. So we only really go to watch 45 minutes more of the movie, before she had to leave.
After she left, I started my homework. I know, four o'clock on a Sunday- not a exactly star-student quality. So now that I've finished that and a lovely dinner of Mahi-Mahi, asparagus, and rice, I think I'll either watch some Cowboy Bebop, or read Pride and Prejudice. Maybe both.

Saturday.

Usually Saturdays are very pretty boring; I just do the same old stuff. I went to bed last night around three in the morning, so I woke up rather late. I checked my DeviantArt, as I do everyday without fail, and I watched a couple episodes of Cowboy Bebop. Recently, Aley has become rather obsessed with anime and she's currently watching this one and since Simar watched it too, I figured I might as well. It's not my favorite anime ever, but it's entertaining and creative.
I drew a picture for my friend on DA that was long over due. He wanted a portrait of himself.
Then, since my mom is a bit under the weather today, my dad and I had to do the grocery shopping. This was very aggravating because my dad is a perfectionist and insisted on checking every expiration date, getting the least ruffled package possible, and reading every list of ingredients. To make matters worse, we hadn't been to Trader Joe's in a long time, so neither of use had any idea where a lot of the products were located. I was also in a very bad mood, so I wasn't very patient with him and, even though I knew I was being mean and unreasonable, I still said mean things that I didn't even mean. I hate it when I'm like that.
After Trader Joe's, we look the groceries home and I had a snack and then we were off to Ralphs. By then, I was in a much better mood, so it was much more enjoyable. Still, grocery shopping is a lot of work! And my mom has to do it every week! I should be more grateful that she does that. It's a little thing, but I should still be aware of it.
After dinner, we're going to watch a movie.
Tomorrow is church and a French project with Michelle.

A Great Day

I'm really thankful that it's finally Friday! I'm always so tired by the end of the week; getting up early every day really sucks!
Today was a really good day. Even school was great. We had to run the mile in P.E. today, but my friend, Eliza- easily one of the three nicest people I know- after finishing her own run at a remarkable time, ran extra to keep me company. Isn't that the nicest thing ever?
Then, in English, my awesome English teacher decided that she simply must listen to "Forever" by Chris Brown for some inexplicable reason, so we rocked out for the first couple of minutes of class. Then, when reading Macbeth, I suggested that Helena Bonham Carter would make a good Lady Macbeth, and every one agreed with me. I love my Honors English class.
After school, I spent the afternoon at my best friend's Aley's house. We watched "Whisper of the Heart" directed by Hayao Miyazaki- one of my favorite directors. We thoroughly enjoyed it; it was really cute and relatable. I loved Shizuku, voiced my Brittany Snow in the English version.
For dinner, my parents and I went to my all-time favorite restaurant, Qdoba.
All in all, it was a great day!

First Blog.

Hi there, I'm Marissa and I'm new to this whole blogging thing, so cut me some slack. I'm really interested in the concept of blogging and I follow a few, myself. I wanted to give it a try to see if I'm any good at it. So, we'll see how this goes.
I think and introduction is in order. So, Hi! My name is Marissa and I'm a fifteen year old high school student in Southern California. I have a tendency to talk a lot, hence the tentative title of this blog. I love to draw and I want to, hopefully, become an artist someday. You can check out some of my art if you wish at http://eternalx3love.deviantart.com/
I love to read, but I don't do it as often as I ought or want to; I spend a stupid amount of time on the internet on DeviantArt, Facebook, Dailybooth, YouTube, all the usual suspects.
Hopefully I can keep this up as a regualr habitual activity.
